CLEVELAND - For the second time in a week, a luxury car was stolen from valet parking at Ruth’s Chris Steak House in Cleveland - which a local valet hopes will teach restaurant goers a valuable lesson: not your keys, not your car.
Alex Mashinsky Jr, a local valet & crypto enthusiast, is on a mission to educate car drivers on the importance of self-custody.
The restaurant in busy Cleveland uses a valet service that stores key fobs in a lockbox, and for the second time in a week, Alex has taken it upon himself to drive one of the cars off to an undisclosed location.
“When someone gives me their car keys, there is no guarantee I’ll give it back” Alex noted in a recent interview with the Daily Sybil “when you give me your keys, sometimes I lend them out, sometimes my buddy smokes dope in your car, you just never know - not your keys, not your car.”
A man whose Cadillac was stolen said he was sitting at the bar watching a football game when he noticed that his car was being driven out of the parking lot. It took him a while before he realized that his car would not be getting returned to him.
"We're very concerned,” a Ruth’s Chris spokesman said in a statement. “With crypto prices down upwards of 90% in 2022, we’ve been hiring an increasing number of cryptocurrency & NFT "traders"; many of whom subscribe to the not your keys, not your car philosophy."
Experts say drivers should ask the valet whether they are former “cryptocurrency” or “NFT” “traders” before deciding to give them their keys.

If someone takes my car keys and lost it or denies to give it back. I prefer use the spare ones because spares are always beneficial to be used during an emergency. I always keep spares in my dashboard so that i can use it during any emergency. It's better to make spares by contacting an auto locksmith expert so that if any problem arises you can use it frequently.
